For Board Coating, select one of Dow Corning's Conformal Coatings. Here are
some items for consideration in choosing the appropriate material for your
use:

There are soft, stress-relieving, elastomeric coatings for fine pitch or
sensitive components. Both heat curing and RTV cure elastomeric coatings are
available or choose a tough, abrasion-resistant coating for mechanically harsh
environments. These tougher coatings are solvent-borne, but versions diluted
with VOC exempt solvents are available also.

For higher volume applications or where emissions are not desired,
solventless coatings are often preferred.

While heat cure and RTV cure coatings can either be dipped or sprayed, it
is more common to see heat cure coatings used for dip coating and RTV cure
coatings used for spray. Either can be used for selective spray coating but the
RTV are more common.

Heat acceleration of RTVs is done at a maximum temperature of 60° C.

For selective coating and spray coating, viscosities of less than 500 cps
are typical. For dip coating viscosities of >500 cps are typically used to
get sufficient film build. Higher viscosities are used to get spot pin coverage
in extreme environments or where higher film builds are needed.

A number of these products have UL or Mil Spec approvals.
