Improving patient comfort in China
When engineers develop medical devices, they look for materials that fulfill
several needs such as quality and meeting regulatory requirements,
cost-effectiveness and ease-of-use in manufacturing.
To meet those needs, a silicone coating system for latex catheters was
launched at a China Medical Equipment Design and Technology conference. The
physical properties and biocompatibility of the silicone improve the final
product and provide greater patient comfort – a key aspect of quality of life
for patients in treatment.
