I'm what you get when you combine the benefits of silicone and thermoplastics
in one material. I have improved grip, soft touch, UV / heat resistance and
reprocessing. I'm a hybrid, premium thermoplastic elastomer with a knack for
high performance.

01
USAGE
Silicone-Modified
Plastics from Multibase, a Dow Corning company, can be used for
soft touch in overmolded electronics (cell phones, notebooks), and rugged feel
/ durability (GPS units, military devices). Design concepts include: electronic
devices (scratch & drop protection, grip), automotive interior (leather
feel) and baby care items, furniture, appliances (soft touch).

02
AESTHETIC PROPERTIES
A vailable in white or custom colors, Silicone-Modified
Plastics provide low gloss, silky, soft, and non-tacky “feel” versus
common TPEs.

03
MATERIAL PERFORMANCE
Silicone-Modified
Plastics offer excellent durability (scratch, abrasion and high
temperature resistance), good mechanical properties (especially tear
resistance, anti-fatigue), excellent bonding via insert molding or co-molding
on PC, ABS, Nylon, PPS resins and excellent UV color fastness available in
specific grades.

04
PROCESSING
Silicone-Modified
Plastics are processed via standard thermoplastic techniques (injection
molding, insert overmolding, co-molding, extrusion). They can be reprocessed
easily without compromising performance.

05
SUSTAINABILITY
Silicone-Modified
Plastics contain no plasticizers, solvent or oil. They can be recycled.
FDA compliant grades are also available for food applications.

06
COST
Silicone-Modified
Plastics are premium grade thermoplastic elastomers.
