Bid Specifications: Dow Corning can help you establish and implement

Construction Distributors in your area who will work with you to make sure
your samples are submitted and documented correctly for testing.
Testing of Adhesion, Compatibility, and Stain: Dow Corning can
perform the standard testing that is required for issuance of structural
glazing and stain-free warranties. These tests are based on Dow Corning
modified ASTM standards and are directly related to projects utilizing Dow
Corning Silicone Building Sealants. For example:
Compatibility Testing: Incompatible materials can lead to
discoloration and/or possible loss of adhesion. Dow Corning will test and
provide information on the compatibility of Dow Corning products with accessory
materials (e.g., gaskets, spacers, setting blocks).
Adhesion Testing: Dow Corning will evaluate the adhesion of Dow
Corning products at your job site or on representative materials (e.g., glass,
metal, masonry, spacers). Test results, product recommendations, surface
preparation and primer can be confirmed in writing, if needed.
Stain Testing: Contact your Dow Corning Representative and/or
authorized distributor for details on submitting samples and other testing
requirements.
